Dr. B.P. Mahesha
PRINCIPAL
Dr. B.P. Mahesha, currently serves as the Principal of Soundarya College of Law, Bengaluru. With a rich academic and teaching background Dr. Mahesha has made significant contributions to legal education and research in the field of law.
Dr. Mahesha has held various leadership roles in academic institutions. Prior to his current position, he served as the Principal of Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya College of Law, Bengaluru, and held the position of Chairman for the Board of Examinations at JSS Law College, Mysuru. He has been actively involved in coordinating various academic committees, including those related to research, placement, and cultural activities. With a teaching experience of 15 years at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Mahesha has imparted knowledge in diverse areas of law such as Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Labor Laws, Environmental Law, Cyber Law, and more. His expertise and commitment to education have enriched the learning experiences of countless students.
Dr. Mahesha’s educational journey includes a bachelor’s degree in Kannada Literature, LL.B. from JSS Law College, LL.M. in Constitutional & Business Law from the University of Mysuru, M.Phil. in Mining Law from Karnatak University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Mysuru. He has also cleared the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) in 2015.
He has authored numerous research papers published in reputed journals and books, focusing on contemporary legal issues. Dr. Mahesha’s contributions to academia have been recognized through various awards and accolades. He has received awards for his research papers and has been honored with Outstanding Teacher Awards by esteemed institutions.
Ms. Claudia Nadh
Assistant Professor
Claudia Nadh is a seasoned legal professional with over 12 years of experience, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Soundarya College of Law.
She holds a B.A.LL.B degree from Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, Bangalore University, complemented by an MBL (Masters in Business Law) from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru and an LL.M from University Law College, Bangalore University, specialising in Employment and Labour Law and emerging as a topper with a distinction in her specialisation from Bangalore University.
In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements in the field of Employment and labour law, Claudia Nadh was honoured with the Sri. B. R. Puttananjappa Memorial Award and the Prof. C. Shivashankar Award by Bangalore University.Currently immersed in her Ph.D. journey at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru her research focuses on the ‘Legal Protection of Medicinal Plants’.
Beyond academia, she has achieved distinction in Popular Vocals, passing the fourth-grade exams from the London College of Music, University of West London, and has been recognized as a High Achiever.Having garnered experience in esteemed law firms and MNCs like Lawyers Inc, Amicorp Group, and Deutsche Bank as a corporate lawyer, Claudia Nadh has also shared her knowledge as a visiting faculty member at distinguished institutions such as I ZEE Business School, Alliance University, and Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies.
Alongside her corporate and academic roles, Claudia is an active contributor to legal scholarship. She has presented numerous papers at conferences, published articles in reputable legal journals, and conducted workshops on pertinent legal topics.She has also rendered her service as an In-charge principal in Soundarya College of law for over a year. She has handled multiple responsibilites as Academic Co-ordinator, IQAC Co-ordinator, Students Council Cell, Student Scholarship Cell, Student Grievance Cell, Internship and Placement Cell, Sexual Harassment Cell, Alumni Association, Senior Supervisor – KSLU Examination, Editor of the College Newsletter – Kanoonu Patrike and much more.
Claudia’s multifaceted contributions, ranging from academic coordination to student welfare initiatives, reflect her unwavering dedication to the holistic development of both students and institutions alike.
Ms. Monisha M
M. Com.
Assistant Professor
She completed her B.Com. with First Class Distinction from St. Claret College, Bangalore University, Bengaluru and M. Com with Finance Specialization by securing First Class Distinction from Jindal First Grade College for Women, Bangalore University, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Her areas of teaching are Accountancy, Business Environment, and Financial Management. In her student life in UG and PG and as an Assistant Professor in Soundarya College of Law, Bengaluru, she participated and presented several papers at various National /State Level Conferences, Seminars, Symposium, Workshops etc and has 3 Years of teaching experience.
During her teaching experience she has published several articles on Financial aspects in various journals. She has been a co-ordinator throughout her career in Soundarya College of Law for conducting Guest lectures and seminars. She is the coordinator of Cultural Committee, Examination Committee and a member of Soundarya College of Law IQAC.
Mr. Hanumanthe Gowda
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Mr. Hanumanthe Gowda is working as Assistant Professor at Soundarya College of Law,Bengaluru. He worked as a Lecturer at Acharya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru and worked as Guest Faculty in the Institute of Management Studies at Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta. As an administrator he worked as In-Charge Principal, Soundarya College of Law, Bengaluru. He worked as In-Charge Principal and also as Vice-Principal at Sri Siddaramaiah Law College, Chikkaballapura.
He started his career as an Advocate at Bhadravathi from September 2000 till August2005 and from April 2007 to September 2008. His areas of teaching are Law of Evidence, Banking Law, Property Law, Hindu Law, Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code and Drafting Pleading and Conveyancing, Company Law, Contract- I (Law of Contracts), Jurisprudence,Constitutional Law- I and Constitutional Law- II,Professional Ethics, Human Rights, Cyber Laws and Business Law. He passed KSET in November 2014 conducted by Mysore University, Government of Karnataka.Currently, he is pursuing his Doctoral degree (Ph. D) in Law (Part Time) from the Department of PG Studies and Research in Law at Gulbarga University, Kalburgi under the guidance of Dr. Devidas G. Maley and he cleared his Course work exam.
He has post- graduation in Business Law with A grade, Bachelor of Laws and also Bachelor of Science: PME as core subjects from Kuvempu University. He has contributed in creating chapter on Ethics and Values of Engineering Profession to Engineering Services Exam (ESE) General Studies book and created questions on Ethicsm and Values in Engineering and review of questions on Energy and Environment to GATEFORUM Educational Services Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad. He has been invited as SPEAKER on ‘Human Rights and Gender Equality’, ‘the Impact of Covid-19 on Labour. Law and Engineering’, ‘Women’s Rights’ and ‘Ethics in Engineering Profession’ and also been also identified as a resource person for creatingmawareness on ‘Prevention of Sexual Harassment’ and for creating awareness on ‘Constitutional, Legal Rights and Entitlements of Women’.
He has also participated in various FDP and webinars. He was identified as the Member/Legal Advisor of Women Cell, Coordinator for VTU Examination and Digital Valuation Centre, AIT and also was nominated as Head of Cultural Committee of Kannada Rajyotsava 2018 and 2019. She is the coordinator of Soundarya College of Law Legal Aid Services Clinics and Member of Soundarya College of Law IQAC.
Mr. Girisha K
Assistant Professor
He completed his master’s degree from Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shimoga, Karnataka. He worked as an assistant professor at SJM College, Chitradurga, Surana College and Christ Pre-University Evening College, Bangalore. SLET qualified in 2016. Presently working in Soundarya College of Law.
He has a rich teaching experience of 14 years. He is a resourceful hand for NSS Programmes and has been an NSS officer from 2011 till date. He participated and organized more than 20 camps such as 3 National level camps, 5 State level camps, and 11 village-level camps.
He received the ‘Best Programme Officer Award’ from Bangalore University, Bangalore in 2018 & 2020. He received the ‘Adharsha Shikshaka Award’ from HDFC life in 2019. He participated in several conferences, seminars, symposiums, workshops, etc. and also presented multiple papers. He is the NSS Program Officer, and also he is a member of Soundarya College of Law IQAC.
Ms. Akshatha Poovappa N

She has completed her B.A by securing First Class with Distinction from Field Marshal K M Cariappa College, Mangalore University, Madikeri and B.Ed by securing First Class with Distinction from Sai Shankar B.Ed college and Education, Mangalore University, Ponnampet and M.A in Political Science with First Class Distinction from Mangalore University, Mangalore (Konaje) Karnataka, She has cleared Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) for Assistant Professorship conducted by Mysore University, accredited by UGC, New Delhi. She has 5 years of Teaching Experience. Her areas of teaching are Political Science, International Relation and Public Administration. She has NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate. She participated in various National / State Level seminars, Conferences, Symposium, workshop etc. She is a coordinator for various committees like Soundarya College of law IQAC, NAAC and Parents Teacher Association.
Mr. Pramod Kumar R
Assistant Professor
Mr.Pramod Kumar R, has pursued his LL.M in International Law from University of Mysore in 2020. He pursued his LL.B from KLE Law College Bangalore, Karnataka affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi.
He has cleared Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) in 2020. He enrolled as an Advocate at the Karnataka State Bar Council, Bangalore in the year 2008 and practiced as an advocate. He has participated in many Intercollegiate Moot court competitions and Mock trial competitions. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at University of Mysore and JSS Law and Medical College, Mysore. His area of teaching is Cyber Law, International Law, DPC and Criminal law.
He has attended various seminars, conferences, workshops etc. He is currently the Sports Committee co -ordinator, and works for various other committees as well. At present he is serving as Assistant Professor in Soundarya College of Law. He is a Coordinator for Sports Committee and he is a member of Soundarya College of Law IQAC.
Mr. Abhijith S
Assistant Professor
Mr. S. Abhijith joins Soundarya College of Law as an Assistant Professor with a solid foundation in Law and Business. He completed his B.B.A., LL.B. from KLE Law College, Bangalore, in 2016 and went on to earn his M.B.L (Master of Business Laws) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, in 2018. Further enhancing his qualifications, he has cleared CS (Company Secretary) course from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in 2020 and also completed his LL.M in Technology Laws from Presidency University in 2021.
Before entering academia, he practiced as a litigation lawyer, specializing in civil, banking, and arbitration matters for three years, and then worked as a corporate lawyer in a leading international law firm for another three years. His professional journey has provided him with a deep understanding of corporate and commercial laws, securities and investment laws, technology and intellectual property laws.
At Soundarya College of Law, Abhijith is excited to share his knowledge and experiences with students, contributing to their growth and understanding of the legal landscape. His approach to teaching is informed by his practical experience and his personal interests in sports, fitness, and spirituality, adding a well-rounded perspective to our academic community.
Ms. Kavitha S. Nagashetti
Assistant Professor
Ms Kavita S Nagashetti Holds a Masters in Law(LLM) with a Specialization in Mercantile Law from Gulbarga University. She completed her LLB from Seth Shankarlal Lahoti Law College, Gulbarga, affiliated with KSLU Hubbali ,Karnataka and is enrolled as an advocate with the Karnataka Bar Council Bangalore where she Practiced Law.
With 12 years of teaching experience,Ms Kavita has held various teaching positions, including Lecturer at R K Law College, Bangalore, Guest Faculty at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, and Junior Assistant Professor at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Her areas of expertise include Intellectual Property Rights, Constitutional Law, Professional Ethics, Contract Law and Law of Torts.
Ms kavita has actively participated in developmental activities such as Faculty development Programmes, Seminars and Webinars. Currently, she serves as Assistant Professor SCL and Coordinates the Mediation Commitee and Committee for Disabled.
Mr. Shivakumargouda Patil

Mr. Shivakumargouda Patil is working as Assistant Professor in Soundarya College of Law, Bengaluru. Before joining to this institution, he worked as Assistant Professor in Hurakadli Ajja Law College, Dharwad. He has teaching experience of 12 years. His areas of teaching are Indian Penal Code (Criminal Law-I), Code of Criminal Procedure (Criminal Law-II), Law of Evidence, Land Laws, Contract-II, Administrative Law, Drafting, Pleading and Conveyance, Moot Court, Alternative Dispute Resolution Systems, Insurance Laws, Civil Procedure Code & Limitation Act, Property Law, Constitutional Law-I and Family Law I.
He was also the Co-ordinator for the Moot Court Committee, Library Committee, Students Union, Anti-Ragging Committee, Prevention of Sexual Harassment Committee, Students Grievance Redressal Committee, etc.,. He has also done the Examination Duties of the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi as External Senior Supervisor, Sit in Sqaud, Member of Flying Squad, etc.,.
He was also the Member Secretary for the Local Inspection Committee constituted by the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi for the purpose of granting affiliation to the Law Colleges. He has cleared his K-SET in the year 2016. He was the topper in the Labour Law Specialization Course securing 1 st rank in the Post Graduate Department of Studies in Law, Karnatak University, Dharwad. He has also participated in various FDP’s, Seminars, Workshops, etc. Before starting his career in teaching, he has practiced as a Advocate in the High Court of Karnataka, Dharwad Bench, Dharwad and in the Courts of Haveri. Presently he is the Co-ordinator for the Moot Court Society, Co-ordinator for LIC-Inspection and Associate for Legal Service Clinics in Soundarya College of Law.
Ms. Pranitha Pai

Assistant Professor
Pranitha Pai is a gold medalist (LLM Human Rights) from Amity Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Noida and has completed her BBA LLB from Symbiosis Law School, Noida in 2020. She is enrolled in the Delhi Bar Council and has cleared the All-India Bar Exam. Before joining Soundarya Law College as an Assistant Professor, she was working with the National Human Rights Commission as a Legal Research Consultant. She has also practiced as an advocate across various Delhi district Courts and Delhi High Court while specializing in matrimonial law.
Her area of interest includes Human Rights, Family Law, Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, Jurisprudence, Public International Law and Law of torts. At present she is serving as an Assistant Professor in Soundarya College of Law and is the coordinator of Internship Committee and Human Rights Committee.
