Internships allow law students to get hands on experience and see the real legal world. It gives them an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in legal matters when they get to work under Advocates, Corporate Law firms, Banks, LPOs and other such organisations. Through such internships the students who are new to the field of law get both academic and practical education on law. It allows the students to gain the required set of skills which help them later to get employment after their graduation. Students get to learn, and they develop work ethics, time management, and effective communication skills. Soundarya College of Law follows the KSLU guidelines regarding internships and thus has made it compulsory for its students to complete 12 weeks of mandatory internship for the 3 Year LLB course and 20 weeks of internship for the 5 Year integrated courses. The objective behind this, is that the students should get to know where is that their interest lies, and which is the field of law that they want to pursue their career in. During the entire course of their internship, it is mandatory for the students maintain an Internship Diary as provided by the college. In it they have to mention the place of internship, the duration, work they did, their learnings. The college also makes sure to take the feedback of the employer regarding the student intern. Apart from the advocates and law firms, students of Soundarya College of Law regularly do their internships at- Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, Law Commission of Karnataka, Karnataka Lokayukta, DLSA Karnataka and other neighboring states.

The Placement cell of Soundarya College of Law has moved from strength to strength and has emerged as a destination for many National and Multi-National organizations to recruit the fresh talent nurtured in the campus. In the journey towards excellence, many milestones were also set by the Placement cell in terms of Quality and Quantity. The excellent infrastructure of the campus facilitates different activities of placement-cell like pre placement talks; value added programs, written tests, group discussions and interviews as per the requirements of the Organizations.
